Lakeland Theatre will hold auditions
for the upcoming performance of

Auditions for "The Best of American Pop Through the Decades"
will be held  March 19th @ 5pm & March 20th @ 7pm.

The music revue "The Best American Pop Through The Decades", which consists of six show-stopping sections, with choreography, leading up to a super-charged Finale! This great mix of nostalgia and current pop hits allows you to truly bridge the generation gap with an entertaining retrospective of America's own music. Sections include: Opening – American Pop, 50's – The Birth of Rock, 60's – American Bandstand, 70's Dance and Romance, Rockin' the 80's, 90's Now, and Finale.

We ideally would like roughly 20 adult sized people (half male, half female) that can sing and/or dance (BOTH preferred, not necessarily in equal amounts). They should come prepared to sing and dance something simple. A planned song is always a good idea but I know not everyone can pull that off and we don't want to dissuade talented folks. "Sylvia": A modern romantic comedy about a marriage and a dog.  For all you dog lovers, this is the play for you! It will warm your heart when a lost dog finds a new place to live.  Sylvia becomes a bone of contention between husband & wife.

Synopsis

Greg and Kate have moved to Manhattan after 22 years of child raising in the suburbs.  Greg brings home a dog he found in the park - or that has found him - bearing only the name "Sylvia" on her name tag.  She offers Greg an escape from the frustrations of his job and the unknowns of middle age.  To Kate, Sylvia becomes a rival for affection.  And Sylvia thinks Kate just doesn't understand the relationship between man and dog.  This is a howingly mad comedy and most endearing.  It is beautiful, funny, touching and profound.  Although Sylvia is a "dog", she is portrayed by a human, bearing all human traits and emotion but displaying some "behaviors" of a dog in a comedic sort of way.

"Kate" - Female, between the ages of 40's and 50's

"Greg" - Male, between the ages of 40's and 60's
